If only virtually during the lockdown, it would be lovely to meet a kindred spirit with shared interests or with a similar personality, although of course it’s good to be open to differences as well. I’ve tried the impossible task here to encapsulate myself in writing! - but I know it’s best to keep things light and just chat.
I would describe myself positively as introvert; I enjoy conversation, but don’t feel the need to be surrounded by people. Perhaps you’re the same? - a person who enjoys the nuances of the sensory world and what the imagination evokes, curious about the interior world as much as the natural world around us.
I’ve a long interest in Zen Buddhism, and more recently, Jungian psychotherapy. I teach guitar (mostly classical guitar for children) for a living. I studied fine art originally, and given more time, I’d love to paint more. I love going to art exhibitions. I’m not an avid reader, but enjoy researching to satisfy my curiosity, and would like to explore poetry and learn from someone with a background in literature, as well as music and the visual arts.
When the current situation changes, I would equally enjoy just going for walks with someone - especially Devon, where I lived for a while, and the Lake District, which I visited many times in my teens, but anywhere really. I’m not a sporty person, but think it’s important to stay healthy, slim and agile.
Outwardly I live a modest life, but inwardly I know life to be sufficient, unlimited, and wondrous. At times, I’ve had to learn and find my way through life the hard way; I feel it’s important to be conscious of, and accept one’s complexes, but also be willing to playfully give them up.
I value being able to be quiet and reflect - to be open-minded towards life’s paradoxes and not get caught up in dogmatic or over-preoccupied, self-absorbed thinking. I feel mutual care and being attentive is important, and that can happen over time in a light-hearted way.
